This is a poem written by my father while visiting Finquita Lucita in November, 2006.

                                  Finquita Lucita

The lush green valley, rolled out peacefully below,
The beckoning church steeple catches the sun´s first glow.

Trees and mountains everywhere, lush irregular patches of green,

God has painted exquisitely, basic colors of a Costa Rica Spring.

High on Dave and Lucy´s mountain, surveying the scene,

I relax in my rocking chair, all´s peaceful and serene.

A vulture, so graceful, rides the thermals with glee.

Searching most carefully, what his breakfast might be.

Birds on the banana deli, are squabbling like mad,

Declaring the fruit is theirs to be had.

The jagged mountain outline, across the valley´s far side,

Being kissed and fondled, by bellowing clouds on their ride.

The only activity, in my line of sight,

Are the birds and the butterflies, soaring in flight.

Now this isn´t Heaven, but you know God is near,

Is he the yellow butterfly or that beautiful bluebird so dear?

Only the master, could create such delight,

The peace and the beauty are beyond human´s might.

So I´ll sit here and rock, just delight with this view.

Thank God for their mountain, and the heavenly pew.
